2026 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION WINDOW IS OPEN!
Plainville Athletic League 2026 Baseball and Softball Scholarship Information Letter
As we have done for over 20 years, the Plainville Athletic League (PAL) will once again be awarding scholarships for students who have attended a local high school and are planning to continue their education at a vocational school or college, two-year college, four-year college or university; or have enlisted in a branch of the US Armed Forces.
Over $65,000 has been raised and awarded to over 100 recipients since 2004.
Applicant Requirements:
- Is a graduate of the Class of 2026
- Has played a minimum of four (4) years of league play in the PAL
- Has completed the 2026 PAL Scholarship Application
- Submit a brief essay that relates to an activity, lesson, or memory you recall from your time spent at the PAL, and how this experience will help prepare you for the future.
Applications must be received via email by May 29, 2026 for consideration.
The applicants will be checked to confirm league scholarship parameters. The PAL Board of Directors will choose the finalists based upon a blind reading of the essays submitted. The winners will be chosen from that finalists group by a vote among the PAL Board and Scholarship Committee. Winners will be notified via email.
The applicant does not have to have participated in baseball or softball after leaving the PAL; this is not an award being presented to the most accomplished graduating student-athlete or prolific student; nor is it being presented to the applicant who may have the greatest financial need (all which are subject to debate). It is simply a gift to PAL alumni who have met the qualifications presented by the league.
Applications should be scanned and emailed to [email protected].
